ABOUT US

We are a traditional Sardinian and Sicilian cucina, nestled on Gosforth High Street. With a charming mediterranean ambience our cosy restaurant transports you to the heart of Italy. Using only locally sourced produce, our seafood is all fresh, our varied menu contains vegetarian and gluten free options.
Our wines are from our homeland, our pistachio crema liquor is a little taste of heaven, whilst Corsaro's home-made classic or pistachio tiramisu is belissimo.
Claudio and Chef Alberto look forward to welcoming you and your friends soon.
Sicily, the largest Mediterranean island, is just off the "toe" of Italy's "boot." Its rich history is reflected in sites like the Valley of the Temples, the well-preserved ruins of 7 monumental, Doric-style Greek temples, and in the Byzantine mosaics at the Cappella Palatina, a former royal chapel in capital city Palermo. On Sicily’s eastern edge is Mount Etna, one of Europe’s highest active volcanoes.
In Sicily the diet is strongly based on grains, vegetables, and fish. Meats and game are available, but often used in very special dishes, not everyday ones. Swordfish and tuna are the fish most frequently eaten.
Sardinia is a large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea. It has nearly 2,000km of coastline, sandy beaches and a mountainous interior crossed with hiking trails. Its rugged landscape is dotted with thousands of nuraghi – mysterious Bronze Age stone ruins shaped like beehives.
Traditional Sardinian food has a long history dating back thousands of years and is distinct from Italian cuisine in many ways. You'll find culinary delights rich in meat and cheeses in and around the inland areas, while the coastal shores tend to have meals revolving around local seafood and catches of the day.
